Jason W. Brooks, CFA, PM - President & Founder
Jason is the President and Founder of Invico Capital Corporation (2005 - current) and is a Portfolio Manager to the Invico Capital Private Equity LP, established in 2006, the FCI Energy Opportunities Fund, established in 2008 and the Invico Diversified Yield Fund, established in 2009. Currently, Jason manages over $60 million of invested capital across 14 private company portfolio investments. Jason is responsible for the assessment of investment opportunities on behalf of the funds managed by Invico and approves the commitment of investment funds. In addition, in his role as President of Invico Capital Advisory Services Inc. he assists companies with mergers, acquisitions, and the sourcing of debt and equity. Previously having served as Vice President with Ernst & Young Orenda Corporate Finance Inc. (2000-2005), Jason brings over 16 years of experience focused on private financings in the oil and gas, power and utilities sector both in Canada as well as internationally. In addition, he has advised on greater than $3 billion of private and public merger and acquisition, divestiture and financing transactions. Jason is a registered Portfolio Manager with the Alberta Securities Commission, holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a graduate of the Haskayne School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce.
Allison M. Taylor, MBA, PM - Executive Vice-President
Allison Taylor is an Executive Vice President of Invico Capital Corporation and a Portfolio Manager of three Invico managed funds, the Invico Capital Private Equity LP, established in 2006, the FCI Energy Opportunities Fund, established in 2008 and the Invico Diversified Yield Fund, established in 2009. Allison brings over 13 years of experience in corporate finance in both the private equity and financial advisory services within the energy sector. Allison has been actively involved in the assessment of investments made on behalf of the Invico managed funds and is integral in the ongoing regulatory compliance and accounting of the Invico managed funds. In her role as Executive Vice President of Invico Capital Advisory Services Inc., Allison is responsible advising clients on mergers and acquisitions transactions, strategic and financial alternatives and financings within the energy sector. Previously in her role as Senior Associate with Ernst & Young Orenda Corporate Finance (2001-2005), Allison was responsible for managing and executing acquisition and divestiture mandates for mid-market utility transactions. Allison is registered with the Alberta Securities Commission as a Portfolio Manager. Allison is a graduate of the Haskayne School of Business with an MBA in Finance and a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and Statistics.
Douglas Pigot, MBA, CMA, FICB - Director and Investment Committee Member
Doug’s experience includes over 35 years in banking, finance, capital markets advisory and general management including 17 years experience in structuring, arranging and executing capital advisory and financing mandates.
Doug was formerly Chief Financial Officer, and then President and CEO of DC Energy Services Inc. (2004-2009). Prior to joining DC Energy in 2002, he was a Vice President with Ernst & Young Orenda Corporate Finance Inc. where he advised on all aspects of debt and equity financing, including structure and placement. Prior to 2000, Doug was a Vice President and Director with BMO Nesbitt Burns Investment and Corporate Banking Group where he was responsible for managing the delivery of innovative financing solutions to a diversified portfolio of accounts in the oil and gas, communications, retail and government market segments.
Doug holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, is a member of the Society of Management Accountants of Canada and is a Fellow of The Institute of Canadian Bankers. Doug sits on the board of directors of Dynetek Industries Ltd., a TSX listed company.
M. Darren Sentner, MBA - Director and Investment Committee Member
Darren has over 16 years of banking, finance, capital markets advisory and general management experience.
His previous roles include Chief Financial Officer of DC Energy Services Inc., (2004-2008) and Vice President Capital Markets with Ernst & Young Orenda Corporate Finance Inc. Previously, Darren held senior positions at Transamerica Finance and Bank of Nova Scotia in deal selling and structuring roles.
Darren holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Prince Edward Island.
Jonathan See, CFA, CIM - Senior Associate
Jonathan joined Invico in June 2007 after two years with National Bank Financial’s Corporate and Investment Banking Division, where he focused on equity financing and merger and acquisition mandates in the energy sector. Jonathan graduated with distinction from the Haskayne School of Business with a Bachelor of Finance and holds a Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation, as well as the CFA designation.
